Dave Thomas designed the 7,400 yard Championship standard Golf Course, the longest in Spain, which includes 8 lakes and 84 manicured bunkers, palm trees and olive trees abound the course, the sky is blue and the sun shines almost every day. At the resort the facilities include tennis courts, cycle trails, golf academy, pro shop and a magnificent two tier thirty six bay driving range with practice greens, bunkers. The first Hacienda del Álamo golf course is a masterpiece thanks to the painstaking work of Dave Thomas, who had all the land he could want to design it, with this idea in mind: there were no limits. That is to say, first he made the "dream" field, with no restrictions on space, as if nothing else existed. For this reason, the first golf course is one of the best in Europe. It is no less than 92 hectares. It is wide, with long holes, spacious, and with many lakes. It is very soft, because it is built on natural terrain. The second golf course will be adjacent to the first, landscaping has just started on this parkland course and it will be ready to play in 2009. In 2009 it is tipped to hold the Spanish Open. Even if you’re not a golf enthusiast already, watching others enjoy the relaxing pace of life will soon tempt you out on to the golf course. Location The Hacienda del Alamo golf resort is located next to the town of Fuente Alamo in the Murcia region of South East Spain. The resort occupies a stunning 550 hectare site with the mountains of the Sierra Espuna National Park as a back drop. The park is Spain’s largest nature reserve, an ideal place for walking, mountain biking, or simply enjoying the tranquility. The golf resort is situated between the Costa Calida coast, Mar Menor and the capital of Murcia, which means it is ideally located to cater for both lovers of water sports and culture. The spectacular golf course was officially opened in November 2004 and golfers come from all over the world to play this challenging course.
